What Students Are Saying...

I’ve learned more in 4 months with [Lauren] than I have in 2 years with in person instruction.

"I led worship at church this week for the first time playing my acoustic guitar. I would have never dreamed success would come so quickly!"

“I would whole heartedly recommend the 7 Level Guitar System and Lauren Bateman to anyone interested in learning how to play the guitar.”

"The course is beautifully organized and designed to take you, at your own pace, from absolute beginner to intermediate player."

“After trying roughly 20 to 25 courses I found yours.”

Thank you Lauren, who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks:-) You make the best of what is thrown at you and when the COVID hit, I took up guitar lessons which I've wanted to do since I was a child. Now, at 75 years old, in my 3rd childhood:-)

I'm doing it. It was very confusing at first, but interesting, as I began my journey of trying my luck at online courses. After trying roughly 20 to 25 courses I found yours. I can't express how excited I was after trying your first free online courses, which I must say are VERY extensive. I must also note at no cost for beginners to allow them to test drive before they commit to the full online course which I have done. Your approach, positive attitude and flexibility for your students in your courses is what stands out in your online training. Thank you so much for quitting your previous profession! I can certainly see where your passion and heart is with these courses. God Bless.

I basically came from not knowing how to play a chord...now I'm playing everything from Gordon Lightfoot to Metallica

“Overall, Lauren's teaching style is by far the best I've found for beginners lefty or righty!”

As a left-handed player I had some apprehensions about learning from a right - handed player. After watching a few of Lauren's instructional videos I became aware that left or right makes no difference rather the distinction is the fretting hand and the strumming hand. In this way Lauren's instructional videos are easy to follow along as this is the terminology she uses. The chord charts are also easy to follow since your fingers are numbered the same no matter left or right. Overall Lauren's teaching style is by far the best I've found for beginners lefty or righty !!!! I would highly recommend her course.

“It’s only been three months but my strumming and chord changes are very much improved.”

When I turned 60, I wanted to take guitar lessons. I signed up for classes at a well-known music store. Four instructors, two music schools and two years later, I didn’t feel like I had learned very much. As each instructor moved on, each new instructor taught in a different style and I always felt like I was starting from square one. I decided to try to learn on my own with Youtube. I came across some videos by Lauren Bateman. After watching a few videos and seeing what I liked, I signed up for Lauren’s online classes. I love them. She is a great instructor, very patient and very concise. It’s only been three months but my strumming and chord changes are very much improved. Her course is laid out very well and I love Lauren’s videos. They are easy to understand and easy to follow along with. I would highly recommend Lauren Bateman’s online course. - Lori Bennet

“You take everything step by step and that's just what I need.”

Hi Lauren,

I just wanted to take a minute to say Thank You. In the short time I have been in your course I have learned more than all the time I spent in the other course I tried. I was enrolled in ____ ____ for about a year, and to be fair I learned a little, but their teaching method just didn't resonate with me I guess, and a lot of it that was presented for beginners seemed to be more intermediate level. It just moved really slow. I ended after a year in about the same spot I began. Struggling, no increased speed, no smooth chord changes, (and they didn't teach the "easy chords") So it got real boring, real fast.

You take everything step by step and that's just what I need. What a difference!!

Your an awesome teacher!! Thanks again!

“I have nothing but praise and admiration for the way Lauren teaches and have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone that wants to learn the guitar.”

When I turned 60 a couple of years ago, I decided the time was right to give it a fair dinkum go. I brought an acoustic guitar and joined a group of friends that had jam sessions on a Tuesday night hoping to pick up a few pointers. Although they were willing to help I found the terminology and information they gave me was way to advanced for me.

I then started to search the internet looking for stuff for beginner guitar players. There were plenty of teachers about, some I stuck with for a little while, but I found they showed you, but they didn’t teach you. I was getting more and more frustrated. I wasn’t comfortable holding my guitar anymore, my wrist started to hurt and I was starting to find excuses for not playing it.

I am a high-level performance coach in the sporting arena and I know that without a strong foundation, a strong grasp of the basics then improvement is hard to come by.

I decided I needed to go back to the very basics, starting with how to hold a guitar, to improve.

It was at this stage I stumbled on Lauren Bateman and everything changed. Everything she said made sense, she was easy to understand and she was giving you the basics, the most important things you require to begin for free. There is no obligation to go any further than the free stage, but I was that impressed with the way Lauren goes about her teaching I signed up for a lifetime membership the same day.

Lauren makes it personal, like it is one on one, and she is always available to answer any questions you might have. Lauren will even ask you to send her a video of you playing something you are having trouble with so she can see for herself what is happening in order to help you. There is a private Facebook page for members which has become a type of family where you can ask questions or showcase your progress. Lauren also has Zoom meetings where she not only answers questions raised but shows you how to overcome problems that some of us might be having. Lauren is so accommodating that she even varies the time of her zoom meetings so her students, not matter where they live in the world can participate at a reasonable time for them.

The other thing I like about Lauren is that she will post videos of herself practicing and yes, she makes mistakes too. However, I can sit and watch how she works through the process and that too helps me a lot because I apply the same method when I practice.

All great Coach’s, all great teachers have success because their players/students want to do it, not because they are told to do it. I have never met Lauren, probably never will, but I work through the lessons because I enjoy it and I feel I owe her and want to make her proud as well. I enjoy playing the guitar now, and yes, after just over 12months with Lauren’s guidance I can play at a level well enough to play in front of family members or friends.

I have nothing but praise and admiration for the way Lauren teaches and have no hesitation in recommending her to anyone that wants to learn the guitar.

I’ve gone from knowing absolutely nothing to being able to play ‘Country Roads’, ‘Horse With No Name’, and ‘Eleanor Rigby."

I’ve wanted to learn guitar since I was a teenager, but I never believed I had the talent or the coordination to do it. Now 61, I thought it couldn’t hurt to at least try and get it off my bucket list, so I purchased an inexpensive guitar and started looking at YouTube videos.

Many were too fast-paced for me to follow or didn’t show me how to form the chords being played or were speaking in music terms I couldn’t understand. Happily, I came upon a video by Lauren Bateman. The clarity of her explanations and of the video showing, step by step, at a slow pace, how to create the chords made so much sense of things, I began to feel that learning guitar wasn’t impossible after all. Several more of her videos later, I discovered that she offers an online course and immediately signed up.

I am so glad I did: the course is beautifully organized and designed to take you, at your own pace, from absolute beginner to intermediate player. Everything from choosing a guitar and pick to working in a logical progression to create chords, strum, and pick is laid out in a clear format with ample support, encouragement, and recognition of the difficulties faced at each stage as you develop strength, dexterity, stamina, and self-confidence. And Lauren is right there to answerquestions and provide feedback if you ask for it.
